Tell me if you can relate…
When I sit down to read the bible, I pick up where I left off and begin reading. After I read for a little bit I will stop and wait for tomorrow to read some more. The problem is that if we look back on how much we read each day, we see that we usually cover 1 or 2 chapters at a time. Now this is good, if we give the text the right amount of meditation and apply…But the problem is that more often then not, we stop reading because we have been trained that reading 2 Chapter is enough. If you consider the time spend in reading 2 chapters of Gods word, excluding some OT books, we are spending a very short amount of time reading from the bible.
In an applaued attempt to get God’s people reading more of God’s word, Crossway has started to advertise a new kind of Bible.
The Reader’s Bible has removed all verse numbers and section headings. And have also made chapter breaks and number less noticeable. I am going to order one as soon as I can.
You can pre-order this Bible now, but the expected release is May, 2014. Check it out! http://www.crossway.org/bibles/esv-readers-bible-none-tru/
